1. Information We Collect

At ISBN Publishing (operating at isbnpublishing.com), we collect information necessary to assign official ISBN identifiers, fulfill publishing and distribution orders, manage user accounts, and maintain platform security.

A. Personal & Account Information

When you create an account, register an author profile, or submit an inquiry, we collect your name, email address, password hash, account role, billing information, and contact records.

B. Book Listings & Bibliographic Metadata

When you register books or order ISBNs, we collect book title, subtitle, author name, contributor details, publisher/imprint name, publication date, language, edition, page count, price, category/genre, format (Paperback, Hardcover, eBook, Audiobook), and synopsis.

C. Payment & Transaction Details

All payment transactions are processed securely through PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment gateways (e.g. Stripe). We do not store complete credit card numbers or security CVV codes on our servers.

D. Technical, Device & Usage Information

When you visit our site, our servers and integrated analytics tools automatically collect IP addresses, browser user-agent, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, session duration, device type, and timestamp logs.

2. Google Analytics & Web Measurement

We utilize Google Analytics (a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) to understand how visitors interact with our website, optimize page load speeds, and improve publishing workflows.

How Google Analytics Operates on Our Site:

  • Cookies & Client Identifiers: Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (such as _ga, _ga_*) to distinguish unique visitors, count page views, and understand how visitors navigate our web pages.
  • IP Anonymization: We have enabled IP anonymization/masking in Google Analytics. Your IP address is truncated and anonymized within Member States of the European Union or other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area before transmission to Google servers.
  • Aggregated Reporting: Data collected via Google Analytics is analyzed in aggregate form (e.g. total monthly visitors, most viewed service pages, average checkout duration) and is not used to identify individual authors personally.
  • Opting Out: You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting and processing your browsing data by downloading and installing the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on .

3. Google Ads Conversion Tracking Tag

We use Google Ads Conversion Tracking and associated marketing tags provided by Google LLC. This allows us to measure the return on investment of our digital advertising and ensure our educational and publishing service ads reach authors who need ISBNs and book distribution.

Operation of the Google Ads Tag:

When an author clicks on an advertisement placed by ISBN Publishing on Google Search, YouTube, or Google Display Network, a temporary conversion tracking cookie or tag is stored on the user's device (such as _gcl_au or IDE).

  • Conversion Events: If the user visits certain target pages (e.g., successful registration, ISBN checkout confirmation, service order placement), Google and ISBN Publishing can recognize that the visitor clicked on the ad and navigated to our page.
  • No Direct Personal Identification: These conversion tracking cookies do not contain sensitive personal identifying details such as passwords, manuscripts, or unencrypted financial info. Google provides us with non-personal aggregate statistics (e.g. conversion rates, campaign ROI).
  • Remarketing & Advertising Settings: Google may use tracking cookies to show relevant ads on third-party websites based on past visits to our site.

How to Manage & Opt Out of Google Ads Tracking:

We process your personal and book data strictly for legitimate business purposes:

6. Book Metadata & ISBN Registries

When you purchase an official ISBN, international publishing standards require that bibliographic metadata (title, author, publisher imprint, format, publication year) be registered in global databases such as Bowker Books in Print® and national ISBN agency registries.

By submitting book metadata for ISBN assignment, you acknowledge and authorize ISBN Publishing to transmit the necessary public bibliographic fields to these registries to ensure your book is discoverable by libraries, bookstores, and distributors worldwide.

8. Data Security & Retention

We implement robust technical, administrative, and physical security measures (including TLS/SSL encryption, encrypted database connections, hashed credentials, and role-based access control) to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, loss, or alteration.

We retain personal information for as long as your author account remains active or as required by international ISBN record-keeping standards and legal obligations.
